The aim of the product is to provide a safe work area for staff undertaking potentially high risk maintenance tasks. The nature of off-shore production results in a need for welding and hot works which are not ideal out at sea and near to highly combustible materials.
Protective enclosures create a highly controlled environment. For example the unit can prevent any sparks from getting out whilst ensuring no potentially flammable gases can get in. The structure essentially acts as a protective bubble, which can be tailored to requirements and/or scaffolding structures.
These safe areas can be manufactured from transparent materials if appropriate, thus giving natural light and monitoring or training opportunities. The safe area would be constructed from a flame-retardant PVC to protect workers both inside and out of the unit.
